Proposed five turbine development, located in North Ayrshire, Scotland
Project Overview
- Location: Within North Ayrshire Council, approximately 3.8 km east of Largs and 3.2 km north west of Kilbirnie, north of the Muirhead and Camphill Reservoirs.
- Number of Turbines: Up to 5 wind turbines.
- Wind Turbine Tip Height: Up to 200 metres (m) to tip.
- Installed Capacity: 30-40 megawatts (MW) depending on final turbine choice.
- Lifespan of Wind Farm: Up to 40 years.

Our indicative proposed layout can be seen below, and downloaded here. It is cognisant of environmental constraints, and is currently being reviewed by consultees as part of the Scoping process.
Project Status
On Monday 6th July 2026, Eurowind Energy Limited submitted a Scoping Report to North Ayrshire Council for our proposed wind farm (report available to view via the link at the bottom of this page).
The Scoping stage seeks to engage the planning authority and other statutory and non-statutory stakeholders at an early stage in the planning process; ensuring that key issues, based on local understanding, are identified.
Receipt of scoping responses, and feedback from upcoming public consultation events, and continued environmental surveys, will help to inform the design of the proposed wind farm.
We expect to submit the planning application for Whitehill Wind Farm by mid-2027.
Upcoming Public Consultation Round 1 - September 2026
As part of their early engagement, Eurowind Energy Limited will host two drop-in public exhibition events in September 2026. This first round of consultation gives local residents the opportunity to explore the proposals and speak directly with the project team. Feedback forms will be available to complete. The events are as follows:

9th September 2026 - 2pm to 8pm in the Bridgend Community Centre, Kilbirnie, KA25 7DJ

10th September 2026 - 2pm to 8pm at Blair Arms Inn, 2–4 Vennel Street, Dalry, KA24 4AF
This public consultation period will run from 7th September - 2nd October 2026, and the Exhibition materials will be available to download on this website from 7th September.
